This is the next generation in the venerable Skyline lineage after the famous "Hakosuka". It is nicknamed the Ken & Mary's Skyline (also shortened to KenMary Skyline, or simply the KenMary). It would also be the last Skyline to bear the GT-R moniker for 16 years, until the release of the R32 in 1989. With only 197 vehicles in this model made in the GT-R trim level, it is probably one of the rarest GT-R's in existance, still commanding prices in Japan in excess of $100,000.This Skyline is not only rare in Japan, but it is also a very desired vehicle amongst car collectors world-wide. Previous owner purchased this vehicle in the northern part of the Kyushu Island of Japan over 20 years ago. This Ken & Mary has always been garage kept. Over those 20 years, he’s been able to locate new parts for this car & install them. Back in 2005, this vehicle won an award for Best Restored Vehicle at the Fukuoka Nostalgic Car Show. In late 2005, Mr. Hashimoto, a very famous L-series engine tuner from Oita, Japan, built an engine he was going to use in one of his race cars for Tsukuba Circuit, but he ended up slightly detuning it & installing it in this Ken & Mary. In 2007, they re-restored this vehicle, which during that time the owner installed a new front & rear bumper & rear brakes. The owner of this vehicle was getting into his older years, so he decided to sell this vehicle to Second-Beat Classic Car Service. This car has a lot of history behind it, so hopefully the new owner will appreciate it as much as the last person did.
